Product Description
We carry several green tea products, this one being 50% EGCG. EGCG is quite an powerful little compound. EGCG can cause improvements and help protect against a number of conditions like cancer, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, mental abilities, skin health, lipid peroxidation, atherosclerosis, inflammation, joint health, obesity, and is a strong antioxidant. (1) The only thing holding EGCG back is it's mediocre cellular absorption. Using this with our ginger and piperine extract may be able to improve the absorption and results.
EGCG is the compound that's responsible for many of green tea's benefits. The anti-cancer effects of EGCG are impressive so far, ranging from oral cancer, to breast, prostate, bladder, stomach, skin, colon, and liver cancers. (2,3) EGCG may trigger a process in cancer cells that causes damage in the mitochondria, which causes the cells antioxidant defense mechanisms to be weakened. This process leads to more programmed cell death in cancer cells, but doesn't cause the same process in healthy cells. (4) There are quite a few studies that show good weight loss effects, and a decent portion of that fat being from the abdominal section.
Studies show abdominal fat is the most deleterious type of fat due to the secretion of cytokines and other compounds that can affect nearby organs. (5) Green tea on its own won't account for that much weight loss, about 1-2lbs per month, but when combined with a good diet some other supplements, it will help you almost double the result. One study saw a 24lb decrease compared to 12 for only diet changes. Green tea causes several important markers to change like hemoglobin A1C, restored insulin production, reductions in cholesterol and triglycerides and an increase in the beneficial compound, adiponectin.
