Description

This apple polyphenol product that we carry is standardized to contain a potent 98% polyphenols, and 15% of a specific polyphenol called procyanidin B-2. Polyphenols have emerged as some of the most potent, broad spectrum group of phytochemicals to help enhance and protect one’s health. Procyanidin B-2 is often sold for hair loss, but it's the disease fighting, body protecting power that stands out and makes it an all-star in its category. Research shows that procyanidin B-2 and other polyphenols found in this extract may have positive effects on inflammation, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, aging, overall protection, and much more.

 

Procyanidin B-2 has a positive influence on inflammation by altering the bacterial population in the gut, which causes lower markers of inflammation such as prostaglandin E2. Prostaglandin E2 is considered a “bad” prostaglandin, especially in high amounts. Due to the ratio of fatty acids and cooked oxidized fats consumed, research shows people have prostaglandin E2 levels that are very high. (1) Apple polyphenols also show the ability to increase lifespan within fruit flies! In studies done it is able to activate genes that help protect the body and influence our internal antioxidant defense system and and genes such as catalase, methusela, Rpn11, and SOD. (2,3)

 

Another valuable attribute of apple polyphenols is its ability to reduce to formation of those nasty, aging, disease promoting compounds called Advanced Glycation End Products, or AGE's. (4) Eating higher amounts of apples is shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, as well as improve lung function. People with asthma, or smokers benefit from the antioxidant upregulating, lung healing properties of apple polyphenols. One of the greatest attributes of apply polyphenols is towards diabetes and protecting against some of the harmful effects of elevated blood glucose levels.
